Description
  • An authentic, heavy-cast antique solid brass 6-spoke ship's steering wheel dating from the early to mid-20th century. This genuine maritime salvage piece features beautifully tapered grips and an appealing unpolished aged patina, complete with areas of authentic sea-verdigris.
Notably, this wheel features a fantastic, period-correct historical brazed repair at the joins of two spokes. Likely executed by a shipboard engineer or marine blacksmith following heavy weather at sea, these historic brass/silver-soldered fuse lines give the piece immense maritime character and stand as absolute proof of a true working life at sea, distinct from modern decorative reproductions.
The reverse features a robust, raised integrated mounting collar with a set-screw keyway fitting designed for a steering shaft. A superb, heavy-gauge statement item perfect for high-end coastal interior styling, marine collection displays, bars, or a premium design focal point.
    Dimensions:
    • Overall Diameter: 750 mm (75 cm) tip-to-tip
    • Depth / Thickness: 60 mm (6 cm) at the central mounting collar
    • Inner Fitting Diameter: 1.5 inches (approx. 38 mm) bore
