The Gerber Magniplier Salt 7.5" Fishing Needlenose Pliers 31-003597 is a very robust pair of pliers for fishing.

This version is a part of the Salt collection and can be recognized by the blue accents. The products from the Salt collection are mostly suited for use in areas with salt water. Like at sea or on the beach. Gerber enhanced these products with SALT Rx. This is a coating on the steel that reduces the chance of corrosion even more.

Gerber took a close look at the pliers in general and quickly came to the conclusion that the way you hold it is most important. As such a lot of attention was paid to exactly this. The handle is made from hot-forged aluminium. A technique Gerber used to produce the ergonomic handle. This technique also leaves you with unparalleled solidity. For more ease of use the Magniplier is enhanced with a groove for your index finger. As such it feels great in hand, making the pliers easy to use.

The Gerber Magniplier added a very innovative plunge-lock at the pivot. This enables you to lock the Magniplier when closed. Great if you want to hang the Magniplier from your belt with the included lanyard of nylon pouch. Next to the plunge-lock you will find two razor-sharp carbide wire cutters. These are added to the handle as such that you only use one of the two wire cutters at once. As such you always have an additional pair of wire cutters close. In addition to the carbide wire cutters you can also replace the beak of the pliers. The elongated beak of the pliers is tapered. It is designed as such to make sure a fisherman can easily remove the hooks from the mouth of a fish. If it is located far inside the fish. As such the Gerber Magniplier is the perfect pair of pliers when fishing!
