WWII Aust Military 4.5In Howitzer Shell Base Trench Art Oro Bay New Guinea 

Good general condition, commensurate with the age, as per the photos. The shell is stamped 1939, and is the base of a used 4.5 inch artillery shell, made into an ashtray by soldiers. There is a little plaque in the centre which has been hand engraved Oro Bay New Guinea, 1944 .  Oro Bay was a staging area for Commonwealth troops during WWII. Great item to use or add to a collection. The photos form part of the description
