Model stitched on 40 count fabric - 'Beige' by Weeks Dye Works with one strand of embroidery floss.

This is a reproduction of an antique English sampler made by Elizabeth Anderson in 1775. The original has been embroidered on very fine, slightly uneven linen (50ct W x 45ct H) with silk threads.

The reproduction is charted for 40ct linen and hand-dyed cotton threads with silk (Au Ver à Soie) and DMC alternatives.

The stitches used: cross stitch over two threads, cross stitch over one thread, counted satin stitch, double backstitch and eyelet stitch.

Gentle Art Sampler Threads: Forest Glade, Holly Berry, Old Red Paint, Parchment, Caramel Corn, Toasted Barley, Rose Garden, Endive x 2, Black Licotice.

Classic Colorworks: Cinnamon Toast, Perfect Piecrust x 2, Razzleberry x 2, Old Money, Seaweed x 2, Curry.
