This is a reproduction of an antique English sampler made by Elizabeth Anderson in 1775. The original has been embroidered on very fine, slightly uneven linen (50ct W x 45ct H) with silk threads.
The reproduction is charted for 40ct linen and hand-dyed cotton threads with silk (Au Ver à Soie) and DMC alternatives.
The stitches used: cross stitch over two threads, cross stitch over one thread, counted satin stitch, double backstitch and eyelet stitch.
