It was stitched by Ann Harding at the begining of the 19th century. The original sampler was worked on fine wool with wool threads and a little bit of silk.

Most of this sampler is worked in cross stitch over two threads. Other stitches used are; cross stitch over one thread, chain stitch, counted and free hand satin, a little bit of stem stitch and a few Algerian eyes.

The sampler is stitched using stranded cottons by The Gentle Art and Weeks Dye Works.
