This is replacement Canon BG-E2N battery grip with Infrared Remote Controller, allows the Canon EOS 50D / EOS 40D / EOS 30D / EOS 20D D-SLR camera's to be powered by two Canon BP-511A / BP-511 / 512 / 514 batteries simultaneously. It's very easy to use, just remove the installed Canon BP-511A / BP-511 / BP-512 / BP-514 battery from your Canon EOS digital camera and the battery door detaches. The BG-E2N battery grip plugs into the battery compartment and locks into place via the tripod socket screw. This equivalent to genuine Canon BG-E2N battery grip provides its own tripod adapter threads, so this functionality is not lost.
 
The Canon BG-E2N battery grip holds two Canon BP-511A / BP-511 / BP-512 / BP-514 Batteries that deliver double the number of shots or video time from the Canon EOS camera. Alternatively, use 6 AA batteries in the included replacement BGM-E2 battery magazine.

The replacement BG-E2N battery grip provides controls and shutter release identical to the Canon camera's, including Shutter-Release, Main Dial, AF Point Selection, AF/FE Lock, And the power on/off button.
