Description

Part# DW1 ~ Crow Cams 8 inch degree wheel. Attatch to the crankshaft during the engine assembly to check camshaft installation and valve timing events to ensure they meet specification.

A wrongly installed camshaft can cause you all sorts of grief, not only that ... if you have problems the first thing the camshaft manufacturer will ask you is did you install it properly? Did you degree in the cam? You can bullshit and say yes .... but unless you can prove it is installed properly, then you will not be taken too seriously and to be honnest it is dam hard to diagnose problems if you have not double checked it. For example things do go wrong from time to time in manufacturing, a simple slip up by a machine operator that does not get picked up in quality control, or the wrong grind number stamped into a cam, or wrong markings on a multi-keyed timing chain. etc. will only be get picked up when the cam is installed and only if it is checked properly.

A degree wheel can also be used to check cam specs on an existing engine when you tear it down for a rebuild or freshen up.

A must have valve train tool for every engine builder.
